1. Are there special enclosures available?

2. How vandal resistant are the axis cameras?
One of our ratings is -V for vandal resistant on certain cameras (they will have a -V at the end of their name i.e. M3004-V).  Our cameras are tested up to IK10. Check out a video of sample testing here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWmvLRlJaDI

3. Any suggestions for a generally good multipurpose indoors fixed IP camera from Axis?
There are lots of options, but the camera we used for the webinar demo the M3004 is a good general camerar. You can use the Axis product selector tool to find the right camera for your needs here: http://www.axis.com/products/video/selector/index.php-. If you have questions, our team can be reached at: 800-444-2947 Option 3

4. How will does Synology Surveillance Station work with Axis Cameras?
Synology is a validated Technology Partner (TPP) for Axis Camera Companion (1-16 Cameras).

5. Can you record to both SD and NAS at the same time?
Recording on both the SDchip and NAS is a function of the VMS. Check with you VMS to see if it is allowed. For example,  ipConfigure and Exacq both offer VMS options. that allow this.

6.What is the recommended height that the camera should be mounted at?
The camera height depends on what you are trying to see i.e. see faces, or numbers oft people, overview of your stock etc. For example the M3007 is a good overall view 360 degree camera that can be mounted to show a full overview with the quad view Guy showed in the webinar.. For specific heights- talk to our team at 800-444-2947 Option 3.

7. What are the features of server software over the camera companion?
Companion is basic functionality- like a DVR replacement. There are a variety of other video management systems (VMS) that can be tailored toward the right system and size. We have many VMS partners that offer more functionality-800-444-2947 Option 3 for project specific information.

8.What is the average lifespan of a camera?
I mean how often we should schedule to new camera replacement to get latest features.
We work off common firmware, most functionalities will update with firmware upgrades. You should be sure to keep your firmware up to date on the cameras through their life-cycle and we recommend you review your technology needs every 5-7 years.  A review may find that you do not need technology upgrades yet- but it's enough time for the technologies to advance.

9.  There are well known issues reported from security integrators and end users concerning ACC and cameras with SD cards, leading to unreliable and lost recordings. It's been reported Axis support acknowledges these issues with no known resolutions. Wouldn't recommend it to viewers.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I have reached out to our tech support team and let them know about the issues. Please bring challenges or issues that you find to our attention. We would like to be sure to improve on our products if they are not performing in the field.

10. I need the ability to add cameras 500 Feet away from the POE switch, what is the maximum distance allowed with the cables for these cameras?
We adhere to IEEE standards so we are contrainted to 100 meters cable length without the use of extenders. However, with midspans and extenders you can get to 500 meters. Send us an email with your specs and our inside sales team can connect you with the right information.

11. Do these cameras work outside and at night?
Yes, the key is choosing the right camera for your application. Model will depend on availability or lighting or lack thereof.

12. So none of these cameras are night vision?
Can they work outside and are they weather resistant?
There are cameras in the Axis portfolio that have night vision capabilities- Lightfinder is an example. They are not in the M-line cameras that were shown on the webinar. You can use the product selector tool to find the right model for your needs, or contact . They are included in P and Q line cameras. Here is a video about the lightfinder technology, it's pretty cool: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izNV1EKJ1mM)
As for working outside- yes- plese see the enclosure question at the top of this thread.

13. The cameras are very slow to project the image, why is that?
The camera delay was due to the webinar, not the cameras. We were at the mercy of broadband speeds and multiple connections for the presenters.
 14. The uses would be for forensic investigation for the Police. - If you are asking the question. There are a multitude of uses for the video- business analytics, office automation, forensics and more. We are happy to discuss, call inside sales.
1 5. What if I need 50 cameras and a companion to view them all?
If you are looking at a 16-64 camera system we recommend Axis Camera Station- . If you are looking for a VMS with additional functionalities or more than 64 cameras we recommend looking at our ADP partners.
16. The cameras with edge storage, is there a feature to store on edge and then push the video to a network storage location nightly or weekly.
That is a function of the VMS- partners like Exacq and ipConfigure support this functionality.
17. I heard that in Texas, a person has to have a license to install surveillance equipment. Does this apply to all video cameras? Are there exceptions?
You do need to check with your local codes in each state as they all differ. Most states allow video surveillance indoors without touching low-voltage, but you should be sure to know your local codes before installing video surveillance. If you would like us to connect you with a Texas based Axis resource call our team at 800 444 2947 Option 3

At this time AXIS Camera Companion can only support Axis cameras and feeds.
19. Can you zoom when in playback mode?
You can use the digital zoom when in playback mode, but the optical zoom is a physical zoom that needs to be done at the time of recording. Here is a video about zoom: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2h7EQ_IcPk0
20. Do you need poe switch or can we use injectors per camera?
 You can use either.
21. How many cameras total can be added to system? 16 can be seen on the panel at a time right?
The display and video adapter capabilities and CPU are all factors in how many cameras can been seen at one time. There is not a set limit.
 22. What's the difference between the Camera Companion and Camera Station?
  1. Axis Camera Companion is the base software for 1-16 cameras only. Axis Camera Station is a bit more robust and can handle 16-64 Cameras. If you would like more than 64 cameras or a more robust VMS still- we recommend our ADP partner solutions.
